Our Story
UBU exists because big fashion was selling a name, not a feeling. So we made our own standard.
Harold Sims III started UBU in 2022, after years of making jewellery and a career he'd already retired from. He loved great design, but he didn't love what the big fashion houses charged for it, or how little of that price went into the product.
So he began drawing frames of his own. Each one went from a sketch to a blueprint, then to samples, testing and a small production run. The first pairs sold hand to hand at Dallas craft shows, and people kept coming back for more.
Today that work is the Private Collection: limited-run eyewear for people who want to stand out, punch above their weight and feel proud of what they paid for.
